About

Years ago, Tom learned woodworking from his father and then expanded that knowledge in high school. Even though he enjoyed it, his real passion at that time was automotive mechanics, so he took a job as an auto technician. Tom enjoyed playing pool and owned a custom cue, but had difficulty finding someone in his area to make cue repairs. A friend at a local pool hall suggested that he go see Gene Newport a local cue maker. Tom met Gene and the two quickly became friends. That’s when Tom’s passion for cue making began. Gene showed Tom the ins and outs of building quality custom cues and encouraged him to pursue cue making. Tom worked in Gene’s shop for 3 years honing his cue building skills until purchasing his own lathe and cnc mill. Now, Tom works part time out of a small, but well equipped shop in his home.

Tom builds his cues from exotic woods like ebony, cocobolo and birdseye maple. To set his standard and custom one-off pool cues apart from others, he uses beautiful inlays of contrasting woods, ivory, abalone or other materials.
